Honey is one of Nature’s greatest gifts that helps us keep healthy and beautiful. It is the only food that will not spoil or rot, though it must not be boiled or put in the microwave, as its enzymes will be destroyed. Pure honey, used in moderation in a diabetes eating plan, can be a healthier choice for diabetic patients, than table sugar and any other sweetener, such as aspartame. This is because honey requires lower levels of insulin, compared to sugar and plus it does not raise blood sugar levels as quickly as sugar does.
